The thing is we’ve sort of learned to play without Partey, and the times he came back have been shaky. If anything we need an upgrade for him to partner with Declan, at least rotating with Jorgi for specific games.

I would love it if Arteta gave ESR more time, but him staying on the bench really isn’t ideal for his development.

Arteta doesn’t trust his second tier players even for cup ties, which I would like to see us be a bit more serious about. I mean some still left on the squad aren’t up to par even for those (Vieira is one that comes to mind), but a cup is silverware. We also can’t run a majority of the team ragged but have people not develop and get stronger while sitting on the bench.

Considering our start and teething pain, this was a great season if we take a step back. Unfortunately the environment is this way, we just got to do our best to keep everyone honest in the words of Mustoe, keep pushing.

Signing of the season has got to be Rice, but I am most happy about Havertz. He is a testament to what a good environment does for a player, a testament to what Mikel created for the club. He is able to bring out the potential in these guys. Hell he got Tomiyasu to score this season, twice!

And Declan has a built in recharger, man has even more energy towards the end of the match, always gives it his all. £100m fucking worth it.

As an aside, Boom is probably one of the best Who episode in a while. People have issues with Moffat but the man can write entertaining shit. He probably had this one on the hard drive but man it was a good watch.
