K9MAX, to PostgreSQL German

Running pg_dump produced the following error message:
pg_dump: detail: Error message from server: ERROR: invalid memory alloc request size 18446744073709551613
pg_dump: detail: Command was: COPY public.preview_cards (id, url, title, description, image_file_name, image_content_type, image_file_size, image_updated_at, type, html, .... TO stdout;

Dump File has been created but obviously without the preview card table. Any idea what causes the above error?

@michael That‘s what I thought too. However - database size is approximately 1.8 GB and RAM is 16GB at the moment. For a dump it should be sufficient - or not? Can you recommend something which I can do (e. g. stop everything except postgresql) and retry the dump? I would like to avoid upgrading the server now.

@michael Elasticsearch is running on the same machine with a memory limit of 4GB. I stopped elasticsearch but got the same error message.

free 6.2Gi
shared 1.5Gi
buff/cache 3.0Gi
available 7.4Gi

This should be enough to run a dump I guess. The worst situation would then be a corrupted table.

Mastodon is running on Ubuntu 20.04. Would like to upgrade to Ubuntu 22.04.
My question to the administrators in the Fediversum: Is this a simple process or are there any known issues with this upgrade that need special attention? I would be very grateful for any information. Thanks.

@MartinM Hans im Glück knüpft wohl an einen Nazi-Filmflop aus dem Jahre 1936 an. Das ist ja fast schon wieder originiell. Siehe Artikel im Spiegel aus 2010.

Und schon wieder soll an den ärmsten gekürzt werden. Anstatt Konzerne zu besteuern und die super reichen zur Kasse zu bitten werden Menschen ohne Arbeit mal wieder zum nationalen Sündenbock erklärt.
Das ist Klassenkampf von Oben wie er im Buche steht.

Kontext: Bundesarbeitsminister möchte nicht arbeitswillige Arbeitslose auf null runter Sanktionieren (Das was wir eigentlich mit dem Bürgergeld abschaffen wollten, weil es gegen die Menschenwürde verstößt)

@jo1hamma6und1sichel Es geht m. E. um Totalverweigerer, die einfach nicht arbeiten wollen. Denen soll 2 Monate lang das Geld vorenthalten werden. Was ist daran so verwerflich?

@ErikUden Na ja - irgendwie bin ich schon der Meinung, dass in einer gut funktionierenden Gesellschaft jeder seinen Beitrag leisten sollte, immer aber im Bereich der eigenen Leistungsfähigkeit. Da gefällt mir der Ansatz von John Rawls recht gut. Ausgerechnet ein amerikanischer Philosoph hat solche Ideen entwickelt. @ErikUden Genau. So ähnlich sieht es Rawls ja auch. Aber es ist eben nicht so, dass dort Totalverweigerer vorkommen. Ich denke, dass wir so weit also gar nicht auseinander sind mit unseren Auffassungen.
