am i the only one who's tired of people shitting on the vision pro seemingly because it's apple?
i think the technology & concept backing it is really interesting. obviously, having all this data & technology locked exclusively to a proprietary and monopolistic company is terrible, but it serves as a pioneering product. maybe i'm being hopeful, but i like to think humane alternatives will crop up as the interest & market develops.. it seems inane to dismiss this line of development so early.
on a vaguely similar note: i've been thinking a lot on just how much information there must be publicly accessible on the internet.
i wonder if from the moment you were born, how long would it take to read every blog post, listen to every song, watch ever video.. ect
(disregarding language barriers and eating and sleeping and all that)
how many lifetimes?
this scale of this stuff is dizzying..
just thinking about it sends shivers down my spine, yet simultaneously is comforting..
:blobcatdizzy:
at a concert. i actually really liked the support act but my dad didn't so sat it out with him :/ no idea what they were called though, so can't even give them a listen later
hoping the main act give them a mention - they have a super unique sound!
(on holiday)
before we left i found this old digital camera in a shoebox in my cupboard, and miraculously enough it had batteries and a charger
so i've been taking some photos with it on the beach. but we don't have a CF reader so i can't read them onto my laptop or free space on the card for more photos (used ~.6GB in one day D:)
anyways. it's a cool camera.
re-re-writing sdwc. i don't really know why. just bored.
anyway i wrote a whole design doc for it so i can implement whole compiler stages at a time.
first stop: lexing. this time i actually implemented multiline errors too.
debating whether error recovery is worth it. bootstrapping the compiler with only 1 error at a time would be miserable, and retrofitting recovery later would be worse. but.. lazy..
this is unironically brilliant. it's like a parody show of silicon valley, but played entirely for straight. the "whales" are the butt of the joke and one almost thinks they don't realise
