We travelled to #The7thContinent today! Besides the usual suffering from hunger, cold, poisoning, and exhaustion, we were also bitten by spiders, went paranoid, found a fancy hat, went swimming, caught fish, and ruined a submarine. 😂 We didn't lift the curse, but Rome wasn't built in a day either. 😅 @boardgames

Started for the first time tonight. I was on the fence about whether I would like this, but 2 hours in I'm loving it! Anyone else here play it?

Time for our heroine, Keelan McCluskey, to take on the curses of #The7thContinent once more.

Shortly into exploration, storm clouds have already gathered and I'm being possibly blocked by a flying plant. The continent is unforgiving. Good thing I'm close to hunting grounds, so I can replenish my life force, if I'm lucky. I also need to find some berries so I can entice a creature to hatch from it's egg that I'm carrying.

Did I mention that I'm already bloody and injured?

Wrapped my session on #The7thContinent for now. Death lurks tangibly around every corner, but I managed to move across a bridge into a new area, which is an excellent time to save the game. The curse lingers on me yet for an unknown duration.

It was a good session, with some big ups and downs. My goal was simply to hunt food and move toward my goal as quickly as possible, and I fairly accomplished that. My hunt wasn't as successful as prior ones, and only came up with a Vulture.

That's not bad, actually, but the thunderstorm brought unexpected relief in the form of lightning-fried squirrel (or something). Eating basically carrion plays a not-insignificant role in this game.
Fortunately, you always want to cook your already-fried meat, which gets you twice the cards back from the discard. As my botanical skills have grown, I was able to use local flora to supplement and get additional cards when eating.

Also, a lovely time yesterday and today playing #The7thContinent solo. No picture, sorry.

This choose-your-own-adventure game, distilled into a board made of cards, is brilliant but fiddly. Exploration on a huge map is the reward, but survival is really the key, so speedrunning from one hunting grounds to the next is my main m.o.

So easy to pack up and continue the same game later too.
