The #KTMKomuter is a lifeline to many people in #Seremban who depend on it to go to #KLSentral and back

It used to take about 1⅔ hour to reach KL Sentral from Seremban and vice versa

The early morning express train service with limited stops take about 1⅓ hour

However, as of late, the train services had gone from bad to worse, with journey taking almost 2½ hours

The most important rail project that no one seems to know about in Southern California is Link US, which will create run-through tracks, meaning Union Station will have run-through service rather than be a stub.

This service is as important to future service in Southern California as the Regional Connector project was to Metro Los Angeles.

The U.S. is having a rail travel renaissance, but you probably didn’t notice.

"High-speed rail is still a long way off, but vastly improved conventional rail is right around the corner."

I want to celebrate this more (as a huge proponent of US #manufacturing), but I disagree with the #IRA’s point-of-sale rebates for #BEVs.

Advanced manufacturing credits for some domestic #battery production? Sure.

Not POS vehicle rebates.

And I believe that the POS rebates will ultimately be far more than the CBO scoring suggests.

It was a missed opportunity to allocate those funds to broaden US manufacturing competency.

adamjcook,

Instead, we should have invested heavily in subsidizing domestic #manufacturing of advanced #rail technologies and trainsets.

Further, we should have heavily incentivized local governments to buildout #RegionalRail - something that many metro areas desperately need.

It is a deadlocked “chicken-or-the-egg” problem for many US metro areas and we needed massive funding to break the cycle.

Instead, #cars will be further entrenched via the #IRA’s flaws.

We will pay dearly for this in time.
