A new #SteamDeck Beta Client update was pushed out yesterday! With a bunch of fixes, this one also brings in a new compatibility tab for some SteamPlay settings and soundtrack controls to the library and Quick Access menu!
@boilingsteam Its always nice to see the adoption of the #SteamDeck
growing one Steam deck at a time. its a wonderful system i am enjoying this device everyday :)
This is where you grab your Steam Deck Japan style. Just get a card with your model and bring it to the counter where they give you the actual unit. Note that they clearly differentiate between emmc storage and nvme on the labels #steamdeck#osaka#japan
We got the awesome opportunity to check out the upcoming humor-filled adventure, Evil Wizard! Let’s take a look at the game and get a peek at what we can expect on #SteamDeck.
after putting it to sleep many hours later, this junk is still stuck trying to exit YouTube. Restarting Steam would just put it in this permanent stuck state where you then have no choice but to force restart the #SteamDeck which i really hate to do but is just too common than it shd on #SteamOS. i love this thing to death but it is one hot piece of garbage.
another bug i almost never get, but when it does happen, pisses the hell out of me is proof how buttons/prompts on #SteamOS really mean nothing and does nothing :D when u wake ur #SteamDeck from sleep (or boot?) with no internet or on offline mode, despite clearly being connected to WiFi just fine (n restarting/reconnecting it for good measure), the Deck refuses to connect to #Steam servers cos why would u want that right?
Dear laptop-using Mastodaoine, I need recommendations (and de-recommendations) for a portable powerpack to recharge a HP Envy 17t laptop at least once. The mains charger says 90W and 19.5v. I see a Krisdonia and a PowerOak K2 (both 185Wh / 50000mAh, but I'd love to hear from someone who has actually used something like this.
@docum3nt I recently looked into large power banks for #SteamDeck - if you need to fly with the power bank there is a limit that is legal in most jurisdictions of 100Wh which is equivalent to a 27,000mAh. That’s total capacity of up to two power banks and is apparently why getting anything larger than 27,000mAh is more expensive.
Over the next few weeks, I'm going to TRY to accurately measure my power consumption doing daily work tasks on my big tower PC, the Steam Deck, and the HP Dev One laptop. (Using a Kill-A-Watt P3).
ALSO? Gaming power consumption comparisons between my desktop PC & the Xbox Series X, both at 4K resolution.
I expect it will be an eye-opening experience and I'll never turn on my tower again.
This will undoubtedly branch off into all kinds of software testing too. YES, I'll record & share data...
