I got tired of forgetting where the / are on various platforms and having to track them down, so I started a list.

https://hyperborea.org/tech-tips/fediverse-feeds/

Currently covers deep breath , , , , , & forks, & forks , , , , , and

whew

Feel free to let me know what I should add to the list (or any corrections I need to make) in a reply to this post!

@gidi Thanks! I'm adding it to the page now!

@KelsonV thank for doing that, although one would wish this was not necessary. I still remember when websites prominently advertised their feeds and browsers had discoverability UX built in for those websites that only put the link in the head metadata

Dear @grunfink I have gotten a little bit further with creating a #snac2 Portfile for #MacPorts.

(As in, it now builds and creates a binary, but seems to error out during install)

I am at a point where I probably need to shift gears and get something to eat, but I documented the progress here:

https://trac.macports.org/ticket/66383

In other words: I think I'm pretty close?

Additional sets of eyeballs are welcome.

(jmr on MacPorts' IRC also suggested I could create a GitHub WIP PR, but I prefer Trac)

byterhymer,

Nope.

One more thing to try.

byterhymer,

Nth time was the charm!

https://github.com/macports/macports-ports/pull/16871

So, the CI buildbots checks completed successfully too.

Yay!

That means that #snac is more likely to be added to #MacPorts.

(only 3 previous PR guffaws not to mention however many other local things that went sideways before getting to that point).

@grunfink I'll keep you apprised as far as whether that gets merged or not, but I think that's about it for me for one day.

As I look a bit deeper into creating a #MacPorts #Portfile for #snac2 it appears as if it is recommended to not hardcode /opt/local here:

https://trac.macports.org/wiki/PortfileRecipes#hardcode_opt_local

Also, apparently there is a #makefile #PortGroup?

You would think that after a year of toiling with this stuff, I would have it better figured out, but nope: learning something new each time!

Here's my prototype Portfile for snac2:

Still needs improvement!

(sorry @grunfink I will look at this more later)
