Song Luo Cha green tea is an historically significant tea from Anhui Province. This example is from the MyTea Pal Club. Light flavor, slight (not unpleasant) bitterness if you oversteep, zippy energy.
2024 Meng Ding Mao Feng green tea from MyTeaPal club. This is the Sichuan Mao Feng, the other was from Guizhou. This one is an earlier pick than the other and it shows in the cleaner, sweeter flavors/scents of the tea. They're both great green teas, but if I picked one to drink more of, I'd probably pick the Mei Tan Mao Feng from Guizhou.
When I complemented the proprietor of MyTeaPal on their 2024 Mei Tan Mao Feng they said, "For the two Mao Feng teas, the picking grade is lower than the other two teas, but having more leaves makes the flavor more rich. I can see why that's the case for a puerh drinker like you." Which, I dunno, is that a bit of a slam? Heh, well, it is true, I like richer flavored green teas...
Last of the (mostly) One River Tea Osmanthus scented black tea "Gui Hua Hong". (Technically, a blend of One River and MyTeaPal osmanthus scented black teas filled out with some "Fujian Breakfast" black tea from White2Tea.)
Osmanthus Monday, finishing bags of two Osmanthus scented black teas with a blend of the two. (One was a little heavy and one a little light, blend about just right.)
Working again on similar teas, Osmanthus Scented Qi Hong (qimen/keemun black tea) from MyTeaPal. Pleasantly light osmanthus flavor allows the tea to shine and the osmanthus scent to complement.
Moving backwards in time to the last dragon year, the 2012 Bulang Arbor King (via TeaPal club) is starting to show some storage character in the scent of dry tea and body of the soup. However character is very clean, I think their Chengdu storage is on the hot-dry side.
Moving backwards 4 years from 2018 to 2014, we find Bulang Arbor King raw puerh in a quiet mood. Youthful vigor has faded, but aged character is just beginning to show.
Second tea of the Bulang Arbor King vertical, moving backwards two years in MyTeaPal's Chengdu storage, trying the 2018. You can see from the leaves and soup color, it is already darker. Overall, this is a much more enjoyable tea to drink than the 2020. It is settling down.
