Yes, another night of #Solo#Encyclopedia and yes, another loss. That's three in a row. This time I concentrated on only taking the publication action twice and focusing on only three categories. I still ended up with less points than my other two plays. On top of that, I'm losing by almost 30 every time so it's not as if it's close. Something about this #BoardGame just eludes me. It's like a brain teaser I can't figure out.
The AI collects so many of the same continent! And I tried to pool my markers together in just a few publication categories but I still only had a max of 6 cubes in a few categories. Maybe I'm doing the publication action wrong...?
I got destroyed in my first game of #Encyclopedia but nonetheless, it was fun. I didn't realize that I would only score points for my publications if they had 4 or more pieces to the collection. I diversified too much and missed out on a lot of points. I also didn't fathom truly how many points AI would score at the end from the animals and experts they were collecting. Animal cards act as a multiplier and quickly ratchet up the score for AI.
#Target had a pretty decent sale yesterday (it might still he going on) on #BoardGames
One was 25% off and if you bought 3, 1 was free.
Grabbed two games for my kids for Christmas (Magic Market and Life: Super Mario Bros) and then picked up #Encyclopedia for myself. It's a dice placement game and while I've typically had an aversion to dice, I've been loving Roll Player and Tiletum (though this is much more a Euro that employs some dice work.)
