@hehemrin@dfri Claes’s argument that fraud would be reduced by using BankID less is not convincing. The alternative to BankID would be a password in most cases. Most people still reuse passwords, don’t use password managers, and don't use MFA on their email account that can be used for password resets. Passkeys might save humanity from that if Apple and Google stop inhibiting them, but the same authentication fatigue attributed as a BankID weakness applies equally to Passkeys. 🤔
The BankID app has this cool concept of “you don’t need to carry your ID card or Passport with you - we can verify it in the app”
But it only works with Norwegian passports or ID cards for citizens - which means immigrants like me still have to carry their passport around with them.
Jeg er så lei av å måtte låse meg til Google bare for å kunne bruke en mobil, men er samtidig avhengig av ting som #BankID, #vipps, #EnTur og andre sentrale apper for å kunne delta i Samfunnet™ på en noenlunde normal måte..

Er det egentlig greit at #BankID har nedetid overhode? Og spesielt har 9 timer nedetid, slik de skal ha fra i kveld kl 22 til i morgen kl 7? Alle er avhengige av BankID til alt!

It's definitely "slow time" for users, but undoubtedly plenty will get bitten by this. And of course all several million users don't get any warning, unless you go to the web-page and check for announcements...
#Swedish ID cards now fully digital via the #BankID app, which is also used for MFA in basically any digital service of importance here. Quite cool how you’re able to “tap” the physical ID card with your phone to have it transferred. QR code rotates every second or so, so probably safe to screenshot, but playing it safe 😅 Only thing I don’t like? There doesn’t seem to be a setting for changing the age.
