Upon our return home, a series of unfortunate events occurred during which a human member of the household who isn’t me melted a red plastic bucket with a wool skirt in it. It’s fine; we all set buckets on fire sometimes.

BUT: I fixed it! I picked up stitches from the cut off burned areas, and my technique got better with time. It was actually a pretty quick repair project. I’m not saying you SHOULD burn plastic onto your clothes, but if you do…

Skirt is laying on the floor with a rectangle of double pointed knitting needles around a square where fabric and plastic have been cut away
Repaired skirt laying in fresh snow: a knit black patch has replaced the largest burn, and smaller patches embroidered with white yarn edges and simple white flowers
