The music in that was bangin, with a surprise number of cover albums. That said, I’m now reminded the dev Terry Cavanagh went on to make Dicey Dungeons (which also has bangers but dif composer I think).
Also fun fact, the hardest puzzles are credited to fucking Bennett Foddy, of Getting Over It fame. It all makes sense in retrospect now.
I did always really like the earworm music in the PMD series. Super fun games, even though I stopped liking the art as soon as they left the sprites behind
Man, I haven’t thought about this series in so long! I loved the trailer music for the first game. It came on a demo disc that the PlayStation magazine included every now and then. Super cool!
The music and the game are underrated. I’ve played its SNES version, it’s a really good adventure; being able to mix-and-match your critter’s parts gives it a fair bit of depth, as you need to develop viable strategies. I wish that it had a spiritual successor, in the same “spirit” of the older game, but better (like Thrive is becoming for Spore).
I’m almost sure that this song is from Gaia is talking with the MC. It’s soothing; and frankly damn great.
