I’m still fixing up my website. I have decades of posts and things to improve.

But almost exactly a decade ago, I was in Yangon and Mandalay half the time. The 6am Jetstar flight would take me to Yangon. I would go to get mohinga at Tin Tin Aye directly from the airport. I would go to meetings. It was a weird time in a beautiful country.

Magazine

Collecting links and snapshots of lives across Southeast Asia and maybe a little further. Owned by a Malaysian who is inviting others to contribute to a hopefully representative view of the Southeast Asian fediverse.

We track fedi-specific hashtags for our microblog as general country magazines exist or are upcoming (eg Philippines channel on Lemmy; and @Malaysia here). Currently tracking:

**We follow this instance's Code of Conduct and would like to emphasize the following:**

this magazine aims to be inclusive while understanding Karl Popper's Paradox of Tolerance;
Hate speech or ironic posturing using hate speech is not tolerated;
Hate speech is that which prejudiced the speaker and the audience against a particular class of people. This magazine considers the following classes to be of note: gender, sexuality, ethnicity, geography, economy;

the rules are a work in progress; and
mag owner is a bit of an anarchist and anticolonialist and has opinions about the myth of meritocracy
