@NatureMC@afewbugs@Pollinators there were a few suggestions in Flora britannica about the smell being cloying, some suggestion that it might indicate you were Catholic (when it was forbidden after the Reformation) and that some of the chemicals are the same as those released by corpses!
Beltane/Mayday celebrations seemed to have a pass for the flowers, and they were used for garlands (more outside maybe?)
