The Right often can’t articulate their own case (ex what is “woke”) much less the case of another group with any measure of accuracy. The right mostly fall into the use hyperboles and talking points to define the goals of others. Talking points that are more often than not simply fabricated to incite right wing reaction and engagement and have little to no connection to reality. The right routinely completely distort the Leftist position. Obama is communist, Biden is communist, Obama want to take away all our guns. Biden want to take away all our guns. One of the “weakness” of the political left is the willingness to deliberate and compromise, the empathic desire to try and see issues from different angles. This often means listening and reading other perspectives. One of the rights “strength” is assuredness, the belief that they are always correct side and that there is always a clear “common sense” solution to every issue. This often means willfully ignoring any counter arguments, facts or historical examples. It also mean believing outrageous things about the motives of Others.

The rights problems range from projecting, to straw man, to what aboutism. There’s literally no talking to these people. It’s like trying to convince and addict that they have a problem before they are able to admit they have a problem. They will find any angle to cling to the hate.

Leftists can’t seem to do that because they don’t really know what the right-leaning arguments actually are. I do. I was raised that way and believed it for a fair chunk of adulthood. And I still think right-wing media is wrong.

Right? So many of us were raised in a conservative household. Trust and believe I know what they agree with and vote for. Also, I’m very left leaning. The past three years have taught me to research and double check everything before stamping my opinion or approval on things. There is so much false information that’s easy to mistake as non-fiction. So I actually do double check sources before reacting to the media/story.
