I don't think it was an insurrection but #AlexJones sounds like a totally crazy asshole here. Sadly there's a lot of people who appreciate this rambling, tough guy routine enough to buy whatever he sells. If it was less of a debate but more of a conversation, I would have loved to hear @ggreenwald call him out, but they were technically on the same side. @wjmaggos Total shit show, I watched live. Alex is entertaining as hell but he has no business in a real debate. Destiny is usually the most obnoxious interrupter in the room but he couldn't hold a candle to Alex. I really felt for the moderator ( @IanCrossland )
I wished it were just Destiny and Glenn for a serious debate. Fortunately, they tentatively have agreed to just that:
that would be nice. my thoughts aren't clear yet but we kinda all need to agree to put entertainers like AJ in a separate category away from most people who engage in political discourse. he's funny but he's engaging in bad faith. it's something like a WWE character being allowed to compete in Olympic wrestling. more people might watch but it stops being what it was. it ceases to serve the original purpose. and in this arena, there's no refs. we have to demand better.
