Doug Parr, Greenpeace UK’s chief scientist, said: “Every few months the government makes a grandiose public announcement about future nuclear in the hope that a big investor will believe the hype and step up to fund this 20th-century technology, but it isn’t working.
If you want nuclear, and a good mix of clean energy is healthy so it’s a good idea. You need to actually invest rather than hoping the free market will show up.
But the uk government is allergic to investing in the future of the country
HeartyBeast, I agree wholeheartedly. It would also be good to see some government investment to build UK nuclear engeneering expertise, rather than us having to rely on the French and/or Chinese.
