They have to because saying otherwise is electoral suicide. I don't blame them, I don't even blame old people for it; they're voting for what best suits them
Young people; get involved, get engaged. Our politics is dictated by the aged. If we want a better deal for young people then we need to get young people voting. Strike fear into the hearts of politicians who think you don't give a shit because you don't appear to give a shit. Go and fucking vote.
@danielholt Agree with this, but as a related point an October election will potentially disenfranchise a huge number of young people who will have just started University, and not had the time to get registered to vote in their new location, get appropriate ID etc.
So while part of it is "young people, please get out and vote" the other is "government, stop being such arses and trying to cut young people out".
