@ge0rg@Rjdlandscapes unintended acceleration is a different and horrible issue for which Toyota needs a spanking.
The prius & by the sounds of it this new ev of theirs behaves like a conventional auto but is silent like an ev. You can get out with it in D (just like almost every auto car ever) and it will roll off. That's not the fault of the car or Toyota doing something whacky. My Leaf is the same.
Toyota, like most corps, has many horrific issues but I don't think this issue is one of them.
