Toxic_Flange,

Holy crap, getting a hacked the PS2 with an HD adapter is easy. These hackers made it so easy! I am impressed.. let the wild pirate rumpus begin! :)

C8H10N4O2,

@Toxic_Flange Cool I like ps2's. The ps1 is too dated with all that cd monkery & I'm always waiting for the PS3 to YLOD especially outputting hdmi so I emu that on a ps4, but the ps2 hits that sweet spot.

And Free McBoot for the win eh. If its a phat if you dont have it already, you can get the network interface module on ebay easy usually (the slim has ethernet port from factory) then you can have network enabled rumpus loadery but don't know if anyone is still on XLink Kai though for networked server gaming . Plus they're a damn sight more reliable than the PS3.
You can also get a 8bitdo or make/buy a blueretro ps2 adapter for wireless controllers (great for me as all my og ps2 controllers the rubber bits have gone weirdly sticky with age) .

Toxic_Flange,

@C8H10N4O2 I’m always about the old school :)

My ps3 is still going so I think that’s on my list for hacking. It’s always the hardware backwards compatible one . I have a second one as well I’ve been using for spare parts but I think that one is also salvageable ..

As to the ps2 phat, I was able to score a network hDD adapter about a month ago and was only able to test it now .. so far so good :)

But that screen is so hard to read , can’t wait for the retro rink to arrive !

Also that’s a great idea for controllers!

FreeHDBoot file browser on 14” CRT screen .. so hard to read! I’m not old..

C8H10N4O2,

@Toxic_Flange Same, one working ps3 thats modded, and a pile of will-get-round-to-reflowing hacked ones in the storage.
Same story with the 360, load of dead ones on the storage shelving, but one working with a xk3y on it in the games room.

The plus side with a job lot of broken 360's is if the console can't be saved because of drive key nonsense and chip issues, the psu is awesome for other projects (12v@16a & 5v@1a for a 203w early one) & there's suitable matching sockets to print on thingiverse to 3dp. The retrofitted heated bed on my printrbot 3dp is powered by one like this for a good few years now.
