Mortal Kombat II tests the 3DO's might

Time Extension reports that a team of programmers is working to bring Mortal Kombat II, one of the most popular video games of the 1990s, to the 3DO, one of the... least popular video game systems of the 1990s.

The programmers admit that this will be a "huge undertaking," given the limitations of the 3DO hardware. Mortal Kombat II was previously ported to the Sega Saturn and Sony Playstation with underwhelming results; it'll be that much tougher to bring the game to the older 3DO.

Still, you've got to give this team credit for having the cojones to port MKII to a system that predates the Playstation. And even in its current unplayable alpha state, it's got to be more fun than Shadow: War of Succession!
