What to do when your work/school requires a doctor's note but you're not even well enough to go to the doctor to get a note??

Fucked up my knee really bad yesterday, have been bedridden since noon yesterday, was planning on getting a doctor’s note today because both my work and my school are extremely physically demanding and if my knee doesn’t work, I am down for the count. But I can’t even fucking walk now and I don’t have anyone to take me to the doctor. What do I do?

Call your doctor to see whether they can accommodate you with a note without a physical visit.

To add, if you can’t find a doctor who will do this for you, maybe try to find one that does home visits

Thank you. You gave me the boost I needed and what you said reminded me that my doctor does have an online messaging system so I did that and they called me back and She told me to go to the ER because it’s an immediate need so I went there and they met me at my car with a wheelchair and took me in and I went through their whole rigmarole including x-ray & They gave me a brand new knee brace and a doctor’s note and now my work and my school are happy with the doctor’s note and I can rest now.

Rules

Rule 1: Top level comments must contain a genuine attempt at an answer

All direct answers to a post must make a genuine attempt to answer the question. Joke responses at the parent-level will be removed. Accounts using AI to generate answers will be banned. Follow-up questions at the top level are allowed.

Please do not answer by only dropping a link and do not tell users they should "google it." Include a summary of the link or answer the question yourself. Users are coming to NSQ for straightforward, simple answers or because of the nuance that engaging in conversation supplies. LMGTFY links will be removed.

No responses being rude to the questioner for not knowing the answer.

Exceptions:

On-topic follow up questions are allowed.

Link only answers permitted if the question happens to be "What is a good subreddit for...?"

Rule 2: Please try searching here before posting a new question

Try to keep repeat posts to a minimum. As much as we love answering questions here, it doesn't help when we see repeat questions on the front page every day. You can find the questions that have come up here again and again in our wiki.

Rule 3: Follow the Terms of Service

Be polite and respectful in your exchanges. NSQ is supposed to be a helpful resource for confused users. Civil disagreements can happen, but insults should not. Personal attacks, slurs, bigotry, etc. are not permitted at any time.

Suicide related questions are not welcome in NSQ. Please look to other magazines/resources for a better place.

Questions along the lines of "was I raped?" or "was I sexually assaulted?" are best addressed by the trained, professional support resources you can find elsewhere.

Rule 7: No self-promotion, shilling or begging

No trying to draw traffic to product/video/podcast/website by phrasing it in the form of a question.

Asking for likes, birthday wishes, handouts, or fundraising support fall under this as well. Please see more appropriate magazines for that.

Rule 8: No illegal/unethical or disturbing subject matter

Nothing like "Where can I find a copy of (movie/show/music) for free online?" There are other places for asking that, this is not one of them.

Tasteless or disturbing questions regarding loli, pedophilia, murder, violence or other sketchy or disgusting subject matter are not welcome here. You are welcome to ask good faith questions about such topics but be aware such threads may be locked or removed if necessary to preserve the integrity of the magazine.

Rule 9: No disguised rants, agenda posts or potstirring

Other questions not asked in good faith - such as putting a rant or hate towards any group in the form of a question. Any questions we suspect of being leading questions or asked merely to promote an agenda or sealioning will be removed.
