@tuxedocomputers@kde - Hi Tuxedo! How long will Tuxedo OS 2 continue to be maintained?
My first impressions with OS 3 were great, but Thunderbird ended up not playing nice with my Nextcloud and I could not get KAddressBook and KMail etc. set up, something about the self-signed certificates and key storage.
I have a feeling the latter has to do with Plasma 6 being not quite there yet; with other distros that worked, but then Dolphin and SMB with the NAS failed, so I'm thinking to step back a bit to OS 2 to see if that helps...

Hard to say, how long TUXEDO OS 2 will be supported. We will support it as long as 5.27 LTS is supported by KDE. Right now, nobody knows exactly, when that support will end.
Maybe you want to hold out until Plasma 6.1 arrives on June 18. You could also install 'kio' to see if that helps with any of your issues.
Instead of mounting smb per fstab, you could also try mounting it with gvfs in Dolphin. Hope any of this helps. Let us know if it does.
OS 3: can't install KAddressBook, error upon opening about no Akonadi Agent. Not experienced enough to install what's needed, shouldn't that be a dependency?!?
At last try, without the most recent update, it failed earlier - there was something fixed in the latest Plasma release about authentication?
Everything worked without issues on OS 2, I could sync to my local, self-signed NextCloudPi.
OS 3: Dolphin shows smb shares (Macs, TrueNAS), accesses, but VLC can't play videos straight from the NAS. Works on OS 2 and openSuse.
"Playing nice with Nextcloud" was actually a SNAFU with Groups, separate Addressbooks, inconsistencies in how iOS and macOS deal with the same data set, causing the NextCloud data to look broken on NextCloud, as well.
Data's there, I'll have to start new with the "Groups" feature.
Same behavior with KAddressBook and Thunderbird, but the Thunderbird interface is so aged, I'll go with the KDE tools if I can.

KAdressBook is part of KMail and gets installed together with it. I don't use KMail, but I installed it just now and KAdressBook works just fine. Can you paste the exact error message about the akonadi agent? Also, if you start KMail from Konsole, there might be more output regarding KAdressBook.
"In a few days, after restarting your system, you will see the announcement of the availability of the upgrade to Plasma 6. If you are not using our Tomte system helper or would like to start the upgrade directly, simply install the corresponding package: sudo apt install tuxedo-plasma-upgrade"
it still says "tuxedo-plasma-upgrade ist schon die neueste Version (1.7.1~tux1)."

Problem beim Upgrade auf Plasma 6, Abbruch!
Setze Sourcen wieder zurück, wie vor dem Upgrade
