Don’t get me wrong Web Summit is a Silicon Valley love shrine and I have the smallest violin for Paddy Cosgrave for profiting from legitimising surveillance capitalism in Ireland. I’d say maybe this would make him question what else about Big Tech is wrong but something tells me that’s too much to ask for. His mistake was to make an ethical statement in a fundamentally unethical industry/world. I can only assume he won’t make the same mistake twice if he wants to get back into their good graces.
@aral This mindset, to review every hands gesture, every pose, even breath or lack of it, every spoken world from "toxicity for brand" is essential aspect of becoming and being billionaire. You can't become billionaire without that.

@aral The US has a history of unquestioning support for Israel, and seems unable to make the distinction between the Israeli government and those of Jewish faith. I wouldn't be surprised if Gillan Anderson were 'advised' that she must withdraw for the sake of her career.
@aral I'm legitimately surprised at how many "liberals" just completely ignore injustice when it's Israel doing it. Won't utter their name when talking about war crimes. Say things like "they're just defending themselves" as they murder children.
@aral It just means she does not convinced with the apology, I guess. There is a consensus across corporations, politicians, and opinion leaders, that after Hamas attack, missile strike by a Hamas ally at hospital, and evidence that Hamas use North Korean munition, that Palestine is Hamas and Hamas is Palestine, while anything what Israel army does is correct response to Hamas attack, and being disagree even with part of that is toxic for reputation of business, politician or blogger.
