@omglinux I dunno, I feel like those could add discoverability for new users. Maybe I just think that because macOS has a nearly identical set of sidebar links (except not one to Home because macOS is made by sadists).
@omglinux Rather than changing the default at all, just adding the config panel they talk about would be 100% sufficient. Or even just letting us delete the ones we don't use

I guess it's reasonable to do a top-to-bottom makeover while that code's open but I'd have settled just for the simple inline remove option.
( And that you want Video and not Documents while I want Documents and not Video shows the value of customization :) )
@omglinux This is kind of a bullshit title made to generate engagement.
The design has an edit mode where people can pick all the directories that used to exist. People complain that GNOME doesn't allow customization, but then also complain when they add customization. 🤡
@omglinux Because if you're gonna use up the same amount of space anyway, might as well remove anything useful from it. Blank space is prettier, which is more important than utility.
