It's true: PTAers are often doing things the hard way, for fun, to learn, or to motivate ourselves. :)
Folks might think that tracking savings goals is hard in PTA; it's not really, of course. The "not supported yet in #hledger" feature was a specific way of hiding old accounts requested by the OP. #Beancount has that feature.
Paper is a very robust and elegant technology. Like digital storage, it does have some pros and cons, too.
@simonmic Thank you for clarifying that, and for giving a balanced look at the topic. I hear what you're saying, though it's worth remembering that the "it's not hard" thing is relative to one's current level of knowledge.
And I totally get that doing things the hard way can be fulfilling; I do it from time to time in other fields just because I can. As you say, it can be fun, and a great way to learn!
