beekir,

@jgsjames ooh that one is coming directly over Cleveland, which makes it pretty hard for me to miss. Enjoy it from Missouri!

jgsjames,

@beekir I had the BEST seat in 2017 - my sister lives in South Carolina and center of totality when right over them. Alas, not this year. Looked at quite a few places before I found a campground with an open site that week. St. Joe SP is not center of totality, but it is in the totality band.

beekir,

@jgsjames I traveled somewhere south of Ohio (maybe Tennessee?) to see one of my best friends from college get married just 20 minutes before the eclipse. It was incredible!

Thanks for this reminder, I'm going to reach out to him and start making plans for their family (of four, now!) to come stay with us for the next one!

jgsjames,

@beekir That's amazing! We're everyone wearing eclipse glasses during the service 😂

beekir,

@jgsjames No, they got the ceremony out of the way just about 30 minutes before the eclipse, so that they could take wedding photos in full daylight.

Then we handed out the glasses and watched downtown go dark. My favorite part was all the crickets and bugs that started buzzing.

jgsjames,

@beekir My favorite part. Awe inspiring. My photograph unfiltered and also soft focus with purple fringing. I still love it.

beekir,

@jgsjames That is SUPER COOL! The longer I stare at it, the more it feels like it's staring back at me. Uh oh.

jgsjames,

@beekir P.S. If I stay at St. Joe SP, I get only 69s of totality. But I can certianly drive south/southeast to get closer to the center using the campsite as a base of operations. Just have to decide if I want to try to photograph it and lug around gear. Prolly. But I've time to decide.

beekir,

@jgsjames That might be the kind of situation that calls for a bicycle. I know that country roads filled up all over for the last one and it created some pretty serious traffic jams. Cruising around stopped traffic in the country side sounds pretty fun.

jgsjames,

@beekir That, sir, is an excellent idea!! Thanks.
