Thank you for the comment. I’ve read that the attrition rate for World War II bomber crews was staggering. You had to be very fortunate to survive your tour of duty.
It wasn’t that much stealthier and both meet requirements for stealth. I believe they also both met maneuverability. The difference is that Lockheed had a much more complete and functional prototype and Northrops weapons bay had significant doubts surrounding it.
People love to play the “what if” game and suggest that in every historical aircraft competition the choice not taken was “actually” superior but it often just isn’t the case.
