@grantpetersen@kbob@synths Very specifically and relevant to the VR angle, it's their software modeled theremin that uses Animoog (which you can get on iOS) as its core.
@grantpetersen@synths It looks like it's a current product. It's in stock at Sweetwater, and there are about 30 for sale on Reverb. I'm just out of the loop (pun).
@synths Animoog Galaxy uses the same engine as Animoog Z, they say. Does anyone here have experience with the Animoogs? What kinds of sounds are they best at?
@kbob@synths Animoog Z sounds a lot like a hardware Moog (to me at least). It’s the only Moog I can afford that’s polyphonic and I’ve used it in several recordings but I like the physical interface 🎛️🎚️of their hardware so that’s what I tend to use most.
@kbob@synths yes! I think the future of “spatial computing” is intriguing especially as someone with a disability limiting dexterity & strength. Just repatching my modular is getting difficult. The hot takes on Vision Pro remind me of similar responses when Mac & iPhones were released. Of course it’s expensive & bourgie! It will take time for designers & developers to find the natural vernacular of the medium, but if successful will be more affordable & perhaps more accessible.
