Lux,

Damn, usually its the lemons that get stolen

DoctorWhookah,

Gotta keep an eye on that lemon tree!

loaExMachina,

Yeah, the lemon-stealing sluts are everywhere.

Ashiette,

Not that it matters but when the pH gets lower, chemicals give proton precisely because they have too much electrons.

Eh, that’s not exactly right. Defining acidity in terms of electrons is not the most common way of thinking about acid-base reactions, but if you want to go that route, Lewis acids are defined as being “electron acceptors,” so the meme isn’t wrong, it’s just a non-standard easy of phrasing things (as befits this community).

Source: I teach college-level chemistry.

Ashiette,

I teach chemistry also but had not thought about the possibility that they were refering to the protons that will react with nucleophile compound, thus “stealing” electrons.

I was thinking about the base that is left, and is perfectly contempt with the electron density around the acid site (and could to some extent also be a Lewis base).

But Lewis acids have nothing to do with lemons yet I see your point !

If you sneak past them unnoticed, you may still deliver your packages.
