got a local library/bookstore that has a “take our free shit” window. They had 4 ds games there today, mint condition, like spotless stuff. 99% durability on those babys. https://sh.itjust.works/pictrs/image/31b8a850-2884-4fed-8ff5-8d4e3782ef34.jpeg
I got those two for $20. One for me and one for my son. Working on setting up the custom firmware and Nintendont to servers since the closure of the official ones.
Started playing this game today, and with retro games I hate looking things up. So, if you’ve played this, could you be my friend at the lunch table and clarify a few things:...
Hello all! I have an amazing modded GBA that I purchased through an eBay builder who was wonderfully communicative and built my console exactly how I wanted it....
“Do you want this old thing?” My uncle asked, pulling the old Game Boy from an end table drawer. “Your cousin didn’t want it anymore so I’ve kept it. Your aunt and I played Tetris on it for years, but now the screen’s all messed up and the buttons hardly work.”...
Rad Mobile is an arcade Sega racing game from 1991. It was the first appearance of Sonic the Hedgehog… as a windshield ornament! The cars were sprites. Later they released the game retitled Gale Racer for the Sega Saturn with polygon cars....
A lot has changed since the late 1980s. I can now run Thunder Blade off of a flash cartridge (EasyFlash3). And in general I’ve grown so cynical of in-game product placement that it’s not even funny.
The first emulator to be allowed on the AppStore following the regulation changes is here. iGBA plays GB/GBC/GBA games. To load the rom, download it to your file app, the long open it with iGBA.
I happen to have a board from my FunnyPlaying build so I figured I’d give it a shot. Used enamel wire to make the button contacts and got 3.3v from the cart slot. I also removed the caps as to not power any circuits that didn’t need (CPU and RAM were donors to the other board). Power is provided via AA batteries.
Still very much a work in progress but it works reasonably well (about 8ms of lag). I want to ultimately create an easier to install PCB rather than the perfboard I used.
It took years grabbing these as they’ve popped up for decent prices, just recently grabbed V to finish it off. Wish III had been released as a GBA cart.
I conquered Koholint island finally! I really enjoyed my time playing Link’s Awakening. I can’t believe they fit a whole Legend of Zelda game on Gameboy! I really enjoyed it...
Took a badly marginal gba pcb and transplanted the CPU and RAM into this new motherboard. The soldering was a nice challenge but I had an issue with the cart slot. A pin was bent, so had to fix that before games would boot. Very happy with the result. I’ve uploaded a picture of the back of the shell as well....
Printed using hatchbox wood pla. I had a few issues with standoffs but a little glue fix those right up. I’m very happy with the way it turned out. Just waiting on the release of flippy drive to call it complete....
Horror games with flashlight batteries give you anxiety? Imagine completing a point and click adventure game on a handheld before the batteries run out!...
