@jake4480 looks like a fountain to me. You can quaff from it, and dip items into it. (Results can be... interesting.)

@mr_nohup 🤣 I was able to quaff but still haven't found the Windows control for dip - wondering if it's ctrl-d or something.. I remember another similar roguelike (maybe Angband or Gnollhack?) gave me the option to dip, but Nethack, nuthin. It's gotta be something though! 🤣😂🤣

@jake4480 try using # - that opens the extended command menu where you can type “dip” or “invoke” or whatever other extended command you want

Update: Grug is dead. When I'm playing Nethack, sometimes I like to do random weird things to see what they do. Ran across this crazy shop with all this wild stuff and I just decided to attack the shopkeeper. Why not? He killed me with a magic missile, of course, but I dug this list of creatures I vanquished.

@blindcoder @paxed thanks- yeah, that one worked! Someone else said you could dip too, your longsword as a lawful paladin at level 6 to get excalibur, but I didn't see the command to dip when I was looking around haha

@jake4480 @nic ctrl-d is usually kick. Typing # allows you to type a number of "extended commands" some useful ones are #dip, #pray, and #untrap but there are many. "?" will bring up in game help and a list of extended commands is one of the menu options. Enjoy!
