There’s a #BahasaIndonesia phrase that I love: “bau tanah”, which literally means “(someone) smells of earth (i.e. the soil)”, which basically means someone is very old.
The older you get, the more you smell like the earth. It’s so hilarious and grim and #mementoMori all at the same time. I use it all the time with my family when I talk about how old I’m getting!
