These comments must be amplified so Americans understand the Republicans' plan for America, which is anti-IMG & beyond dystopian.
@KimPerales - "Colorblind" was a marked improvement over outright bigotry. Even as it was often paired with dishonest implementations that were anything but colorblind.
"Colorblind" was always a smokescreen to allow white people to maintain and increase their advantages gained via the racist policies of the past.
It is still a cruel irony that "colorblind" is being used in such a bad faith way to frustrate and block effective action against systemic racism.
"Colorblindness is the racial ideology that posits the best way to end discrimination is by treating individuals as equally as possible, w/o regard to race, culture, or ethnicity. At face value -appears to not only amounts to a dismissal of the lived experiences of people of color, but also suggests that racism doesn't exist so long as one ignores it -serves as a device to disengage from conversations of race & racism entirely."
