culturednyc, Absolutely fantastic #SpringMigration day of #Birding #CentralPark today! Had 7 first-of-season #birds: Blue-winged Warbler, Worm-eating Warbler, Chestnut-sided Warbler, Nashville Warbler, Scarlet Tanager, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, Gray-cheeked Thrush.
My favorites were the Blue-winged Warblers. There were several of them in the vicinity of the Azalea Pond, all calling noisily, making them relatively easy to spot. #NaturePhotography
A Blue-winged Warbler is perched on a branch with green leaves in the foreground and white flowers in the background.
A Chestnut-sided Warbler perched on a branch showing a mustard-yellow crown and its namesake chestnut markings.
A Scarlet Tanager, a brilliantly red bird with contrasting black wings, is seen from below.
