My family has been Republican for as long as I can remember which since our farm straddles the Kentucky/Tennessee border has some significance.
Anyways, I drifted away from the party starting long ago as I attempted to get the U.S. to finally start taking #ClimateAction, but to be honest political party affiliation was just never really a thing that was discussed until Trump.
I just told my family that I better understand the way the Civil War tore families apart.

I said that I couldn't go to the family barbecue because THEY support #GlobalWarming and just as bad a culture war that's hell on my fellow Americans. My sister said that she didn't support that stuff, she's just "pro-life" and fiscally conservative. I know I won't "win" an argument addressing her stance on that misconception, but I told them that I love my country because of its potential and that they made clear on #J6 that they are anti-USA.
@HistoPol@GreenFire I have predicted our civil war but I don’t think it will be of the scope of the last one. But, get prepared. Practice. Be resolute. Everyone thinks they are a beast until it becomes time to do beastly things.
