One of the main problems is that Excel is being used (and promoted) for things it was not designed for. Working with real data in an efficient way. Use only instead and you get everything (for free). No processing in the Microsoft/Excel/Python cloud (Grrrrrr, there is no cloud, just other people's computer clusters). No one will spy on your data or even steal your idea!

@sunfish @stevensanderson try handing a juoyter notbook or markdown file to most executives and they will toss it back at you, excel reigns in that region and for most of the world. Thisni think cannot be ignored, i myself prefer R but most of the 7,500 people i work with prefer excel
