I believe Hardesty later admitted that they got the wrong design on this, while she was relatively new as commissioner when she made that choice. The merchants and traffic Engineers need to understand that not all drivers are going to make any effort to do better.
23yo has a few drinks and leaves a man with life-threatening injuries, obviously driving because how else are you going to get your 6000lb Toyota Sequoia home from the club so you can drive to work in the morning? Nothing will change because it's just one person's bad decision 😖 not the parking situation at bars, not the street design at 92nd and Halsey, not the cost to register, insure, or fuel a giant SUV

To be clear, this is a different crash than the roll-over, which won't be reported if nobody was seriously hurt, if maybe the driver gets a big ticket but not if it was an oopsie while doing only 10-15 over the posted speed if the driver was sober and cooperative, obvs.
