@danlyke I'm pretty sure they have enough crossbars that you can't fall into them, but the depth and (lack of) transition varies so much that I won't ride over most of them anyway, besides that's where the broken glass and junk goes. The gutter shouldn't be counted as bike lane width anyway, but our rocket scientist traffic Engineers probably thought it looked like nearly 5ft in plan / the first time it was painted 🙄
But at least some separation there... Why don't more people bike from #Portland to #Beaverton? Could it be the way ODOT sits on this segment like a selfish old dragon, the way it does all of the deadly urban #stroads in our metro area? #Vision60or70something#ODOTGTFOpdx
Pavement being destroyed by speeding drivers, crumbling the foundation to sand before ODOT'll hand it over to local jurisdictions. Right lane is effectively bus-and-turn only, just paint it red some and let's go. #VisionZero

Extra lanes for cars doesn't move more cars, you're all just stopping to wait for other cars because they're moving too fast for everyone to just smoothly keep flowing along (and platooned by the long stop lights, requiring more delay at all of the lights, delay delay delay...)
