TropicalDingdong,

So I’m running some experiments right now between two sites, and I’ve got some considerations around EC and soil moisture.

Specifically, one site is by a beach and gets salt air, the other is just inland, and has substantially less salt influence.

Specifically, I want to separate out soil moisture from electrical conductivity; however most soil moisture sensors I can find (other than more expensive load sensors using a graviometric approach) also rely on electrical conductivity.

Thoughts? Thanks for the vid.

RoboGroMo,

oh that’s an interesting one, maybe take some soil from both places, dry it out and weigh a set amount then add a measured quantity of water to calibrate them? i don’t know if it would work but it’s probably where i’d start experimenting.
