I think they know the land owner isn't going to actually lose in this but I think this is the developer's intent to get the court to assign liability portions to everyone and order whatever the path to remediation is going to be. Their hope is likely that they won't be on the hook for 100% of whatever its going to cost to make the land owner whole since she probably wants the house off her lot completely, wants the land returned to as it was before and isn't budging. Then there's the complication of having to evict the squatters at the same time.
It was the Metris van, not the LLV. Thats how she was able to get it more than 55mph.
I’ve driven an LLV on the highway (had no choice on my old route) and even at 55 it’s terrifying. Everything rattles, the motor screams and the steering wheel is going all over the place.
Dunno about never sold. Part of the reason China’s experiencing a property meltdown is that people bought and paid for properties that were then never completed.
That's kinda a cultural thing (which I'm not so certain wasn't part of the ruse itself).
Long story short, supposedly the Chinese "want" the clean empty slate so they can "customize" the home to meet their desires. People were told that they need investment properties because that's what westerners are doing to make money. Simply buy an "empty unfinished home" and eventually someone is going to want to buy that property in the future and you'll be rich!
Buying an empty house is pretty standard. I’m talking about the fact that many properties were never even completed to the ‘habitable’ stage. ‘Empty unfinished’ refers to things like light fixtures, AC, etc. Abandoned properties were nowhere near that point.
I'm not talking about "habitable" either. I'm talking no countertops, no tile flooring, no mouldings, no finishings whatsoever. It is an empty "unfinished" shell with the intention that the buyer who moves into the home will fully furnish everything, including all the cabinets etc to match their personal tastes.
This indeed was a scam to sell fake investment properties to the up-and-coming Chinese middle class. There are entire ghost towns full of these investment properties that nobody will move into because there is zero other infrastructure for any residents if they actually moved into the property lol. It's kinda bizarre and insane that the government allowed it to happen for so long.
If you want to see tits then go to a strip club where you can actually see naked tits, and if you want good food go to a restaurant dedicated to making good food. And also, some strip clubs sell food too. Hooters seems like worst of all worlds.
The thing is that your wife wont mind you going to hooters for a few slightly overpriced beers with your workmates, she knows you’re going to look at the waitresses but nothings gonna happen. You’re going to pay a bit too much for food thats good but not great and definitely not so nice that she is going to be annoyed that she wasnt going too.
Its also not that seedy dive bar near the train line where 2 people were shot over an argument about whose stool that was 3 weeks ago and everything is always sticky.
This guy is gonna die. I can handle super spicy, but had to stop eating spicy food so much cause I started having bleeding from ulcers from too much of it. The sauce was bad, but it was absolutely brutal if I ate raw peppers, I don’t do that anymore.
Yeah at a certain point it’s not about how much mouth pain you can stand. It’s definitely unhealthy for your gut to eat that insane level of spicy food that often. Even in Indian and Szechuan cooking they are not trying to destroy you.
I found myself having to eat a lot more probiotics and stuff when I was eating spicy food all the time. Once you pass the habanero threshold I think there is potential for damage… at least that’s my experience.
Eating hot peppers is actually quite good for your stomach unless you have irritable bowel syndrome, dyspepsia, or inflammatory bowel disease–in which case, hot peppers join a very long list of other foods that can cause or aggravate symptoms of those diseases.
My main guess is just ingesting a lot of some weird molecule and we have no way to process it really. Headline would kinda be the same with 135 Oreos in one sitting if the heat didn’t matter.
Eating hot peppers does not cause ulcers. In fact, among the many health benefits of capsaicin, it lowers acid production in the stomach. It’s actually been considered as a preventative treatment when taking things that DO actually cause ulcers–again, spicy food not being one of them.
This connection between spicy foods and ulcers is a long perpetuated myth that has been disproven over and over again. Capsaicin can, however, aggravate preexisting ulcers.
