The 23 beaches and rivers that are too polluted to use, as bathing season begins

At least 23 advisories are in place warning against bathing at beaches and rivers across England as the swimming season begins.

The Environment Agency begins testing water quality in May and publishes the results via the Swimfo website to help people decide where and when to swim.

With more warm weather forecast for much of the country this weekend, hundreds of designated bathing spots are deemed clean enough to enjoy.

MelastSB,

I assume the pollution didn’t just magically ignore Wales, but the map makers did

These results are from the Environment Agency testing in England only. Testing in Wales is carried out by Natural Resources Wales (NRW) - and by DEARA in NI and by SEPA in Scotland. I don’t think that they all publish their results at the same time though.
