So, if I don't want #Meta to surveil me should I block their instance from my instance? From what I read, as soon as I interact (in some way) with their instance, they start hoarding my data?

Xepher_X,

@muiiio Anything you post publicly on Mastodon (or any other fediverse platform) can be ingested by anyone who wants that data, regardless of what domains you block.

@Xepher_X Hmmm, question regarding that: on @pixelfed I post under the #CreativeCommons BY-NC license, would that mean that ingesting my #Pixelfed image posts for any ultimately commercial purpose would be a violation? 🤔

Xepher_X,

@muiiio @pixelfed I don’t think activitypub has any way to distinguish licenses like that, so if your posts are public and viewable from other fediverse platforms then no one outside a Pixelfed instance would even see that. That seems like a larger problem with the fediverse overall.

. @Xepher_X @pixelfed Maybe I will ping @dansup and @Gargron here re: #CreativeCommons licenses and #Fediverse content ingestion by commercial entities
