brygphilomena, It’s a machine designed to destroy hard drives. They use a hydraulic ram to bend it and shatter the platters.
saruwatarikooji, Which is overkill when you can get the same result by just drilling a hole into the drive.
brygphilomena, It depends on how many drives you have to destroy. These things can be pretty quick and do hundreds or thousands of drives without much work.
