@maxim I dont buy games on Epic (just a few exceptions over the years). However I have hundreds of free games in my epic library from all the free shit they've handed out. 🥴

@maxim Maybe my vote doesn't count, because I play a lot of classical games, which can't be purchased online (e.g. SNES) and if I buy games, then they must be for Linux and be purchasable in a way that not a huge part goes to millionaires (steam, play store, etc. is a no-go for me), but itch.io or own website or donation based is cool.

Nope. I got some free games from them long ago, but I've never spent money there.

Last I looked, their DRM was onerous, no Linux support, I didn't care for how they'd snipe games that were soon slated for Steam, and their CEO has frequently rubbed me the wrong way. (Though I no longer remember the specifics.)

I'm not saying never, but I'd need to see them compete with Steam on features and making games MORE accessible. The customer side.

@maxim sometimes. I bought one or two games there, but not because Epic is a good store, but because the game was exclusive to Epic. ;)

Only bought two games there. Timberborn because at the time it was much cheaper there and I really wanted to try it and Assassin's Creed Odyssey because I got a coupon that made it almost free. Other than that I prefer getting games on other platforms.
My priority list is something like

1. Steam 2. GOG 3. Microsoft Store/Origin/Uplay 4. itch.io 5. Epic 6. Indiegala

@maxim For me the question is simple: Is it worth the extra effort it takes to install the game on the #SteamDeck?
Epic is particularly bad in that regard.

• No Linux builds of games, even if other stores have them
• No download directly on the website and also no official download-client on Linux (yes, I know about Heroic)
• No clear statement regarding DRM (last time I checked they didn't even show if a game has DRM)

So, yeah, I rather pay a bit more and buy at GoG or Steam.

@maxim I bought more games on Stadia than on Epic Game Store (1). Everything else is Steam (around 1000) or GOG (around 100, only old games). I don’t even have a PS4 but also own PS4 games.

@maxim Same here, bought 2 exclusives (Hades in EA and Control). Also bought Horizon Zero Dawn, but only because it was on heavy discount + they were giving out discount coupons. Normally now I buy everything off steam (or if game is extra indie from itch.io)

@maxim only game i bought there was Control when it was exclusive to Epic. other than that I get by on the weekly free ones there. my main platform is GOG (preferred) and Steam
