What the fuck dude? Any advice girls?

So a chick I have been flirting with online back and forth for almost a year (she was honestly more into me most of the time than i was her) has just done a complete 180 to saying she’s not interested in that way.

Obviously I’m backing off and respecting her wishes like a normal sane dude.

Any ideas on what might have happened though? She was obsessed with me at one point. The only thing I can think of is maybe she’s found someone else she’s talking to that catches her eye more.

Either way. I was kind of falling in love with her so this sucks and it hurts big time but I respect her wishes and I’m trying tocmove on

Well, I’m a guy, but you mentioned that you were flirting online. It’s easy to idealize and obsess over someone online, especially if it’s long-distance, because you only get to see filtered information about them. And if we humans like someone/-thing, we tend to fill in the gaps rather optimistically.

But if you then find someone offline, who you can physically hold, and about whom you learn so much more real information, that can quickly feel more serious and more like love.

But yeah, you won’t know for sure. Maybe you can ask her about it one day, when the dust has settled and there’s ideally a concrete reason for you to not be flirting with her (like either of you being in an official relationship).
