I still have that idea early Kpop is influenced by 60/70's Dutch Pop, specially the girl-bands.They were popular in Japan and S.Korea too.

Visiting a vintage-vinyl-recordshop in my birthplace Dordrecht cleared things up.
Large influx of youngsters from former Dutch colony Indonesia in 1950' s , already familiar with US-Rock. Almost all Dutch bands had Indonesian blood.
Till present, also on TV.
So, the roots of Kpop are Asian after all 🙂
