@badrihippo ?? I don't know anyone who goes to library in India to read textbooks. If you have ever gone to a public library in India, you'll notice there are no textbooks in public libraries. Public libraries across India are an asset. Government has heavily invested in them so you should actually visit one library and see the plethora of books before making an absolutely absurd comment. Show me a public library in India which keeps textbooks. No one with a rational mind thinks like this.
@altlife I've been to the Anna Centenary Library and also to a couple of university libraries. The selection of non-academic material was disappointingly low. Also, the trend is for people to visit libraries these days as a place to study quietly, not to borrow books.
But as you pointed out maybe I'm not rational ¯_(ツ)_/¯

This library has a collection of 550,000 books, a special section for Braille, children's books and manuscripts along with open access to journals on their website. You should think before you write such comments. If you're looking for current NYT bestsellers to come to your public library within a month start donating it to them. Another level of entitlement. It's a good library.
