@riversidebryan It's one of my absolutely top favourite 80s movies.
Despite the fact that it's a triumph of style over substance (I once described it as "angsty college graduates do angsty things" and I wholeheartedly stand by that) it's a fantastic movie that I never tire of watching.
@losttourist soundtracks back then were just as big as the movies!
Top Gun, Karate Kid, Footloose, Flashdance, Dirty Dancing..... wonder why that stopped happening 🤔
@riversidebryan@losttourist I haven’t been much on going to the movies in more than twenty years, but I remember liking the soundtrack to Step Up: Revolution and before that the Fast and Furious Tokyo Drift soundtrack. I always liked the Judgment Night soundtrack too.
@riversidebryan licensing costs. Back then, record labels let songs be used fairly cheaply, but as sales of CDs have dropped Licensing costs have gone up.
