Personally I think RE2 was the best one with its parallel & overlapping story of both playable characters (just like the crossing plots in AVP2 back in the days). But honestly I didn't play any RE after 3 in the late 90s 😄 Its not my genre anymore, so I guess I could be classified as old 🙈
We don’t get old in gaming. Just that our tastes in gaming change 🤓 don’t know if I will go any further then the first two games but gonna try them out and say that I had a chance to play them
@Player1MGA I think that especially the remake of the second part combines the strengths of the old and new parts of the series. Modern controls, great atmosphere, exciting enemy design and lovable characters. Therefore, I would especially recommend #ResidentEvil2#Remake.
That does sound like something I’m more interested in. Though I wonder how it would play with cloud gaming. Would it hold back the quality and gameplay. Looks like the Switch only has that version for cloud. Though I could always get that version on Xbox. Just like the portableness though
Did you play them on steamdeck?
Nintendo started a big resident evil sale and I was thinking about snagging one. I’ve only played a brief Resident Evil 3
@KazuShuSora@Schdadia@Player1MGA we can agree to disagree. I think the gameplay is outdated as in "we no longer get games like this", but the game very much holds up today. 🥰
@KazuShuSora@Schdadia@Player1MGA I replay it every couple of years. 🤩
But to be fair, I also just recently replayed the original RE2 and found it still enjoyable, so I'm pretty painless.
As a recommendation and "must play" though, I have to go with REMake, closely followed by the remake of Resident Evil 2. RE2Make does a lot of things right and is a great entry point for newcomers.
